Every week, UPEI Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 小黄书视频 Panther Athletes of the Week for January 22鈥�28, 2024, are Orianna MacNeil (women鈥檚 hockey) and Kamari Scott (men鈥檚 basketball).

MacNeil is a second-year kinesiology student from Mabou, Nova Scotia. The sophomore defender had her best weekend of the season with an assist in a 2-1 shootout win over the Saint Mary's University Huskies on January 26. She also recorded her first goal of the campaign in a 5-3 loss to the University of New Brunswick Reds women鈥檚 team on January 28.

鈥淥ri was very sound with and without the puck this weekend,鈥� said head coach Sean Fisher. 鈥淪he was assertive and smart in her attacks and did a good job defending against some of the top players in the conference. She鈥檚 starting to play her best hockey at the most important time of the year.鈥�

Scott is a business student from Malton, Ontario. He was UPEI鈥檚 best player this weekend, despite losses to Acadia University and Saint Mary鈥檚 University. The fourth-year guard averaged 19.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.5 steals in the two games.

鈥淜amari had another outstanding game leading all scorers with 28 points but also pulling down 9 rebounds,鈥� said head coach Darrell Glenn. 鈥淗e continues to lead us in multiple categories, and we rely on his contributions heavily to lead the team to the playoffs.鈥�
