The Mi鈥檏maq Land use project is to preserve knowledge and information regarding the PEI natural and cultural resources by the Epekwitnewaq Mi'kmaq. This project also supports the ongoing resource management and development activities of the Mi鈥檏maq Bands and is important in the protection of Indigenous rights when the First Nations are in consultations with the Federal and Provincial Governments.
The Mi鈥檏maq Land Use Field Researcher will gather information and memories by interviewing individuals, hearing their stories, recording and submitting it to a database to be preserved and shared with others.
