NCLEX-RN Preparation
Since January 2015, undergraduate nursing students at the 小黄书视频 (UPEI) Faculty of Nursing have been eligible to write the NCLEX-RN exam. To date, the faculty has had eight cohorts complete the exam.
The UPEI Faculty of Nursing prides itself in the ability to continue to ensure students obtain a quality education within their program. In 2012, faculty at the UPEI Faculty of Nursing began actively working to become familiar with the NCLEX-RN process through a variety of methods including attending workshops, seminars, webinars, and national conferences all focused on the NCLEX-RN exam. From information gathered through these forums, faculty have been able to continue teaching with the high standards that they have always held, but have been able to include NCLEX-RN styles of questioning into classroom exams, clinical case studies, and Learning Resource Center simulation exercises in order to enhance student鈥檚 confidence with this method of testing.
NCLEX-RN resources have been incorporated into both the basic and accelerated programs at the UPEI Faculty of Nursing. Currently, students begin using these resources in their third year of the program in order to get them used to the NCLEX-RN style of test writing by the time they graduate. Remediation is also offered with these resources to allow students time to reflect and work on their individual learning needs prior to writing the national exam. In September 2015, students began incorporating these resources into their learning from year one to four.
The UPEI Faculty of Nursing values the learning needs of students within their program in relation to successful preparation and completion of NCLEX-RN as they enter the nursing profession.
