Science Research
A diverse range of research activities within the Faculty of Science covers a spectrum of interests, both fundamental and applied in character. Theoretical and applied mathematics, environmental sustainability, diet and health, nanocomposite materials, and soft and hard condensed matter are some examples of the kinds of research endeavours that are ongoing.
The Faculty of Science has a strong record of research activity supported through external funding. Faculty members carry out fundamental and applied research, both independently and through team collaborations. Faculty are involved in a variety of regional initiatives, including the Canadian Rivers Institute and the Atlantic Computational Excellence Network. Further abroad, research collaborations include national projects — for example, nutrition education — and a large number of individual international collaborations in countries such as France, Japan, United States, and India.
